Lucille’s Newborn Session | Delaware County, Pa
It's always fun getting to photograph families more than once, but getting to be there from the pregnancy announcement all the way to bringing their baby home is extra special.
We first met Dylan and Devon during our Red Truck Sessions when they announced they were expecting. They were so excited, and it was easy to see how much they were looking forward to becoming parents. A few months later, we met them again at the hospital for their Fresh 48 session, where we got to meet sweet Lucille. Those first couple of days after a baby is born are a blur, and I love that these photos give families something to look back on years from now. Tiny fingers, sleepy stretches, proud parents—it's all worth remembering.
When it was time for Lucille's newborn session, we headed to their home. I always love in-home sessions because they're relaxed and personal. There's no rushing around, and everyone gets to be comfortable.
Devon had the nursery decorated so beautifully, so we made sure to photograph all of the little details before moving into family portraits. Those tiny details seem so important now, but they'll mean even more years from now when Lucille has outgrown the crib and the room looks completely different. Lucille was such an easy baby to photograph. We captured plenty of sweet portraits of just her, along with lots of moments with Mom and Dad. Dylan and Devon were completely smitten with their little girl, and you could see it in every smile, every cuddle, and every time they looked at her.
Sessions like this are such a good reminder of why we love what we do. It's about so much more than taking pictures. It's getting to document moments that families will never get back.
Dylan and Devon, thank you for trusting me to capture so many milestones for your family. From your pregnancy announcement to meeting Lucille at the hospital and now documenting your first days at home together, it's been such a joy getting to watch your family grow.
Welcome to the world, Lucille. You're already so loved!
